|Chem One Ltd||June 2018|
It seems like every year we say the year is flying by. It’s unbelievable the second quarter is almost over. While this year seems to have flown by, we can say the years fly by. On May 20 it was 25 years since Chem One was incorporated to do business starting in Texas.In June 1993 the process began to build a reliable group of supply partners and then customers. We launched our own Copper Sulfate and an EPA pesticide label. Much has gone into the last 25 years to build our product line and build trust with all our customers.We continue to strive to provide you quality products, service that exceeds your expectations, and be a leader in regulatory compliance. We thank you all for being a part of Chem One’s history. We never forget the contribution each of you have made to our history and we look forward to the future together.
Prices have stabilized on the metals and inorganic chemicals. The daily movement in the market doesn’t impact prices. It takes weekly and monthly trends to impact prices. Copper Sulfate and Zinc Sulfate prices remain the same for June. All grades of both products are available in truckload and pallet quantities. Registered users go to www.chemone.com to see specifications on copper sulfate and zinc sulfate. Pay attention to the news about China and you will see where copper prices are going. China consumes 45% of the world’s copper.
The shock of higher freight rates may be wearing off, but the shortage of trucks especially hazmat, will bring challenges all year. We will certainly quote truckload rates to you, but we encourage you to look at freight options to help lower cost and most important of all, secure equipment. Being flexible on ship dates improves your rates and availability of equipment although there’s no getting around the fact that 2018 rates are significantly higher than last year. We’ve been waiting months for the financial markets to realizes the impact of the rates we are seeing. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/05/22/inflation-is-coming-to-the-u-s-economy-on-an-18-wheel-flatbed.html
In an effort to assist importers and manufacturers/processors meet the supply chain requirements under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has launched a new section on its “Data Dashboard”.
Three FDA FSMA rules (Foreign Supplier Verification Programs (FSVP) for Importers of Food for Humans and Animals; Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Human Food; and Current Good Manufacturing Practice, Hazard Analysis, and Risk-Based Preventive Controls for Food for Animals) require that importers and facilities perform certain risk-based activities to verify that their suppliers are meeting applicable U.S. food safety standards. Under these rules, you must evaluate, among other things, the applicable FDA food safety regulations and information relevant to the supplier’s compliance with those regulations, including whether the supplier is the subject of an FDA warning letter, import alert, or other FDA compliance action related to food safety, and document the evaluation.
The new search feature allows you to search the following from one area;
